I have been using the cloud tool to fill in odd shapes with color for visual identification. I have been changing the curly line to a straight line for a week with no problem. Now, for some reason, it will not stay as al straight lin, but always goes back

I have been using the cloud tool to fill in odd shapes with color for visual identification. I have been changing the curly line to a straight line for a week with no problem. Now, for some reason, it will not stay as a straight line, but always goes back to the curly shape. Why?
