the option to deactive Adobe 8 was greyed out on the old machine.  I installed on the new machine with serial number.  I could not register it because it could not make contact.  Adobe 8 works but I can not print.  How do I active adobe 8 on the nEW MACHINE?  and Register it?  I reset my password but could not login, I got an error message that I could not display the page.

Hi alva2801,

On your old machine, open a PDF in Acrobat 8 and then check if "Deactivate" option is available now or not.

Also try "Repair Installation" under Help menu.

Let us know if issue still persists.

Regards,

Meenakshi

By accident, the deactive option appeared.  It seems not to appear all of the time.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I installed adobe 8 under windows 7 but upgraded to Office 10.  It seems to be working except the print--> an adobe file options is getting error messages.  I am still investigating
