I tried to use the trial version of AcrobatProDC. The .exe runs and says installation complete. But when I click the launch button nothing happens. I can't see the program in my programs list either.

I don't think you understand.  I'm still in the Adobe Acrobat Installer.  There is no "Run as Administrator".  There is no Adobe/Adobe Acrobat DC "directory".  I click "Launch Application" and the install screen goes away; nothing starts up.

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.
