IE crashes when opening PDF

Community Beginner ,

I recently purchased Adobe CC. I'm using DreamWeaver to create a Website with links to PDF documents.

When I open these pages in IE 11 and click on a link to open a PDF, it works fine the first time, but the second time I open a PDF IE stops working and has to restart.

I removed Acrobat DC.

I installed just Acrobat Reader.

The problem went away.

I reinstalled Acrobat DC.

System asked if I want to use it as default, I said no.

Started IE. It asked me if I want to use Acrobat DC. I said no.

Still, after Acrobat DC is installed, IE 11 fails to open PDFs after I've already opened and closed the first PDF.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking Acrobat DC might be overwriting a DLL or something that is causing the problem.

It's a real nuisance at this point.

FIrefox does not seem to be affected. I need to test in IE.
