Inserting an 11x17 center spread in an 8.5x11 booklet

I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and am trying to create a 16-page booklet of 8.5x11 pages. The center spread, however, will be an 11x17 image, but I cannot figure out how to insert it into the document so that the PDF will see it as a center spread. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Here is a solution that I came up with. It is a slightly different approach. It involves using 8.5 x 11 placeholder pages and including the 11x17 page as an attachment. An Easier Way to Do an 11x17 Foldout Page.

Hi David,

May I know whether you are binding it from left or right. Also would like to know if you have tried to create PDF in 3 parts,i.e., first & last 7 pages and center spread.

Thanks,

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

The binding is on the left side. I've created individual pages -- 8.5x11 for all pages but the center spread, which is 11x17. But when I try to combine the pages into a booklet, the 11x17 center spread does not show full size, as it was created. Instead, it shrinks the 11x17 image to a single 8.5x11 page.

Thank you,

David

Hi David,

Please try to attach all the pages except center spread. Once the file is created as booklet style. Then insert this 11 x 17 center spread in to the combined file. Let me know the result.

Thanks,

Abhishek

Yes, that works. Thank you very much. I do not yet have InDesign but tried your solution on a friend's computer and it solves the problem.
