Installation Problems

New Here ,
Aug 17, 2016 Aug 17, 2016

I had to erase the hard drive of my computer and re-install applications.  I located a download of Acrobat 8, which is what I was running before the hard drive erase.  It opens fine and I get to the screen where I can input my Serial Number, and click continue then I can choose to add PDF Printer or something, but the installation never fully finishes from there.  I am left with just the word "Acrobat" in the upper left hand corner.  You cannot click on it for the drop down menu and nothing else ever appears.  I then have to force quit.  When I open it again, it opens fine and goes through the whole process again.  I found a link with all of the patches from 8.0.0 on up, but they do not install properly after 8.1.1 saying I have modified something.

I just want my Acrobat Pro to work as it did before.  Please help!

The alternative is purchasing the new subscription software at $180 a year.  It was working fine before my hard drive crashed.

even though your error message may not seem related to the issue discussed in this link, try it:

http://mac-how-to.wonderhowto.com/how-to/open-third-party-apps-from-unidentified-developers-mac-os-x-0158095/

despite doing that you can expect, at least, some problems because your os is not compatible with older software.
