Is it possible to edit PDFs in Acrobat Pro, that have been created in InDesign?

Hi There,

My company has had some editable PDF forms created, and I would like to add additional functionality to them myself.

I only have Acrobat Pro, and the forms were created in InDesign.

When opening up the forms for editing, Acrobat Pro does not recognize the elements created in InDesign (i.e. Tick Boxes).

If the files are saved in a specific format (in InDesign), will these become editable in Pro?

All PDF files are editables in Acrobat Pro, regardless their authoring software.

Thanks for your response. I understand that they're editable. However Pro does not allow me to edit the specific elements created in Indesign.

For example, there are a lot of tick boxes on the forms. I would like to make some of them radio buttons, however I am unable to make this change to these elements.

Delete the tick boxes and add radio buttons.

Thanks for your reply. I suspect this is the problem. I can remove the old tick boxes (created in InDesign), however I cam unable to add any new content/elements in Acrobat Pro.

Is it possible that the creators of the form have locked down this ability somehow when exporting the file? If so, any ideas on how to suggest them to re-export in a different format?

You mean you can't add radio buttons under Tools > Prepare Form?

I don't see 'prepare form' as an option under tools...where exactly is this located?

Checkboxes you see are graphic objects into the layout, Acrobat will let you create form field objects (checkbox type or other form type) to be placed above graphics.

Then you have 2 choices :

- keep the original graphics objects and place "invisible" form fields objects without stroke and fill color.

- remove the original graphics objects and place form fields objects with stroke and/or fill color.

The issue is that I am unable to add any new elements to the PDF...it seems to be locked down somehow. I can select and remove the previously created tick boxes, however I am unable to add any new elements.
