Latest update of Acrobat DC - Shared Review on Network Stopped Working

Participant ,

Hello fellows,

2 days ago, we've received an automatic update of Acrobat DC and "upgraded" it to version 2015.006.30172.

After doing so, the Shared Review wizard no longer allows to initiate a shared review on a dedicated network drive.

When specifying the network folder path and clicking Next, the status changes to "Unable to create shared folder".

Before the update, it worked fine.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

Thanks!

Roman

Hi,

Can you check whether there is a proxy set-up on your machine, done by your IT probably?

We are trying to figure out the scenarios that are effected in this release(Proxy is one).

We would try to fix the issue to provide the best experience.

Thanks,

Kunal

Hi Kunal,

Thank you for your response!

We are talking about a file server on the LAN. Proxy is not used.

We need a fix ASAP. The shared review feature became completely non-functional. The biggest problem is that we can't uninstall the latest update. It's easy to uninstall a Windows update, but an Adobe update is like a one-way ticket. 😉 Performing a system restore is not an option. Do you have a better suggestion?

Thank you!

Roman

Hi Ashu,

First of all, thank you for your response!

I've installed the update, which updated my Acrobat to version 2015.006.30174.

However, it didn't fix the problem. After I specified the network folder path in the Shared Review wizard and clicked 'Next', I got the same error message: "Unable to create shared folder" and couldn't proceed.

We've discovered that this feature works only if the full file server path is specified and not its alias. For example:

If you specify the full server path:

\\filer12.contoso.com\Review\, the Shared Review wizard will allow to proceed.

If you specify the file server alias, as we used to do up until recently, the Shared Review wizard throws this "Unable to create shared folder" message.

So, \\contoso\Review won't work anymore.

The IT is against exposing the 'real' server path to the users, so this is not an option.

I hope this sheds light on the issue and will help resolve it.

Waiting for the update.

Thanks again,

Roman

Hello-

I have tried to call and trouble shoot myself to no avail. No one is calling me back or can help on the phone or chat. I have Adobe Acrobat DC 2015.020.20039. Shared Reviews/Commenting will not work with my WebDav server- that your website suggests.. It used to work in previous versions. Please I need a solution ASAP.

Thanks,

Kerrie
