Hi ,

It seems like you are on an older version of Acrobat ,i.e Acrobat 8,right?

It is an unsupported version of Acrobat ,there nothing much we could do about this.

What sort of help would you be looking for? We can certainly tell you that Acrobat 8, 9 and 10 are too old to get security updates, which is not best practice.

But are you rushing to judgement here - are you SURE you were hacked rather than suffering a technical failure?

If your machine was hacked, and a PDF changed, this is no evidence that Acrobat was hacked at all.

And if it was hacked your computer should be taken offline immediately until it can be rebuilt or cleaned by an expert. It may also be that passwords were compromised rather than the computer.

It looks more like an PDF overlay. The original looks distorted. I have read where Adobe CS 5 can remove the overlay, however, i have Adobe elements 9, but i don't know if it incorporates all of CS5. I have read instructions that CS5 is the only program that will remove an overlay to expose the original document. Hmm?

Thank you, I used the phrase Hacked to get the point across since it was a US Federal Judges Order inside the PACER and Federal Court computer system. I was shocked to find it after reading the original order and then to see it over laid with a different PDF. it was basically confirmed that it was an overlay of the PDF by an employee of the court who injected his own thoughts into the issue, less the discrepancy of the document.

Hopfully i can find the correct Adobe program that will remove the overlay on the PDF.

Acrobat Pro might do it, but I would not do this for important work because you could not be certain what was the original. You should restore the original from your backups, audit trail or similar.

I received a copy of the original by e-mail through the court pacer system. The reason I know it was the original is because I read the original and then it changed after receiving it, however it was also changed in the Pacer CM-ECFRetMail at the US District Court. Every time I open the program you can the overlay, but if you let it set for a while the begins to change and morph into what looks like an original. When you shut down program it snaps back to their overlay and then it starts changing again. The only problem it has the docket covered to where you can’t see the original but only the edges of the morphing part. This is in a United States District Court for a order signed by a Federal Judge. The IT dept. has control of the documents signed by the Judge, and appear to be payed off to manipulate them. My case has been manipulated and US Marshals observed the changes inside the court house, and also observed the IT person defending the measure of the change in electronic documents, when I was handed a hard copy by IT and informed that was all I needed. So now I have to strip off the overlay to file the original.

‌I've never heard of anything like this. I think you need a hands-on expert.
