I got this huge problem with Word recently. I've done some Word documents for my client and I had to use specific font called Titillium. The problem is, Word can't embed this font when i try to save it as PDF, so it's rendering it and it looks like sh*t. I've tried printing it by pdf printer or use some converters and it kind of worked, but the links I created in original file were missed in convertion. The links are key elements in this document and my client needs to edit this files on a regular basis, so I have to find some solution. The only one I found was using Acrobat DC to create pdf from Word file, but that software costs... Has somone faced the same problem? Any ideas how to solve this?
One (of many) problems that Microsoft Office's native “save as PDF” has is that Microsoft refuses to implement support for embedding any fonts other than TrueType (.ttf) fonts in PDF files. If you are using an OpenType CFF (.otf) font, you are SOL!
And you are seriously asking us to recommend “free” software because you don't want to pay to license Acrobat? No, for that you will need to go to non-Adobe forums. Sorry!
