My Acrobat 7 Pro won't load on my new Windows 10 computer.

The CD's loaded but registration failed. I was allowed to work for a 30 day grace period but now Acrobat won't let me open PDF files and fails to register.

There is no call support and a new download application also failed to accept my serial number or provide a new one.

Any help for prior customers that purchased the CDs?

You're nearly there. You have the replacement download from Adobe's own site, correct? The same site gives you a replacement serial you must use. As I'm sure you know, a lot of the important functions of this ancient Acrobat can't work in your new system.

The reason you cannot register is that Adobe took down the activation servers long ago, but have offered a replacement free of charge.

Uninstall your old Acrobat 7.  Next download the free replacement.

Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products is where you find it.

Next to the download link is a serial number, use that and not your original one.

Discard your old Acrobat 7 CD. You may keep the old serial for upgrade purposes. (If you get Acrobat 9 for example).

As Test Screen Name warns, it is old for Windows 10 and may not work correctly. Right-click on the installer and "run as administrator" for best results.

Actually, to be very clear and on behalf of Adobe, it isn't a matter of Acrobat 7 may not work correctly, but rather that Acrobat 7 definitely does not work fully or correctly under Windows 10. The ability to install and use the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance for creation of PDF under anything beyond Windows XP requires Acrobat 8.1 or later!

Acrobat 7 was my very first copy. I got on an edu discount when i was attending classes. Upgrading Adobe software comes naturally to

me as I upgrade my OS.

I do understand you can't expect a 12 year old app to function fully on a modern OS. No harm however in trying it out and seeing if the functions you use are adequate. Not Postscript, but perhaps simply creating a PDF from a scanner or webpage.

My advice would be to try it out and get DC if it isn't up to your standards.

As Mac owners, the answer is simple...it does not work above  OSX 10.6 and we are at 10.12.
