My Adobe Acrobat 7 is not longer supported. My machine crashed. I reloaded it. I cannot activate it anymore so downloaded Acrobat 8 Prof. Now it won't install because it tells me I am putting in an incorrect serial number but I am using the correct serial

Please can someone help me? I am desperate here!

My machine crashed and I had to reload all my software, including Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard. It is a registered original with an original serial number.

However, the Adobe website tells me it is no longer support therefore I cannot re-activate it. I downloaded instead, Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. It has installed but is asking for a serial number. When I downloaded it, the website stated that the original serial number from my original Acrobat 7 can be used.

I have typed it in a number of times but it keeps coming up with a message that the serial number is not valid.

How am I supposed to use Acrobat 8 if I cannot put in a serial number???

Where did you see that you can use a serial for Acrobat 7 in Acrobat 8? Also, you should know that neither version is compatible with any current OS, so unless your new computer also came with an old OS you're going to have issues installing and using Acrobat 8 too.
