My PDFs do not show up when I open them on my Mac.

All of my Mac and Adobe software is updated.  When I click on a PDF it seems like it opens in the background but I cannot see them.

This has been the case since I upgraded to DC.

Hi ,

What Mac version do you work on?

How are you opening the PDF,within Acrobat or by double clicking or by right clicking on the PDF and then opening it?

Does this happen with all the PDF'?

You could try this once, Go to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Documents>Check mark"Restore last view settings when reopening documents".

I am in Yosemite 10.10.5 on a Mac Book Pro

It happens whenever I click on a pdf in an email or from finder.

I just removed and reinstalled DC and it still does not work.

Yes.  It did not help.   When I minimize all open windows the and right click on the acrobat dc icon and click on show all windows, the name of the pdf appears on my desktop but not the actual pdf.

Hi ,

Are you able to access it through Acrobat or even that fails?

Hi ,

Please sign out and sign back in to Acrobat and then see if you experience this.

I hope you are able to launch Acrobat.

If this does not work, try resetting Acrobat preference.

Restore the Acrobat preferences files to eliminate problems caused by a damaged preferences file.

Here is how to do it.

  • Quit Acrobat.

  • Drag the following files from the Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences folder to the Desktop:
    • Acrobat WebCapture Cookies
    • com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist or com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro_x86_9.0.plist
    • Acrobat Distiller Prefs and com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist (if you are troubleshooting an issue with Distiller)
    • The Acrobat folder, which contains preferences for forms (MRUFormsList), collaboration (OfflineDocs), and color settings (AcrobatColor Settings.csf)

  • Restart Acrobat

I do not see these files in preferences.   I only see

com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist

com.adobe.reader.DC.WebResource.plist

Hi,

Can you please try this:

Open a few files with Acrobat, go to Window -> Cascade -> Tile and see if that brings up the PDFs.

Also let us know if you are on a dual monitor system?

Thanks,

-ashu
