ocr suddenly not translating the body of a .pdf document

New Here ,
Jul 25, 2016 Jul 25, 2016

suddenly some of our .pdf documents do not OCR the body of the document. the headings and footings are typically fine, but the body of the documents is a big box.  This OCR .pdf to .txt process has been running smoothly for years and our process is the same.

How do we determine if a recent change in Adobe or our download source has caused this recent snafu? Is there a way to turn on the hidden formatting symbols in a pdf file so we can compare the newer failed OCR result to the older ones that used to work just fine?

Please advise asap - this is a critical item for us.

Regard,

J Heck

Sorry for the issue you are facing. There is no such change from Acrobat side.

You can try 1 thing

1. Go to Enhance Scans> Recognize Text> In this file> Settings

2. Try different options under Output Style

3. And Click Recognize Text. It will run OCR and recognize all text in the document

Also please provde following information to help us identify and resolve the issue ASAP:

- Acrobat version

- OS Detail

- Steps you are using to run OCR

- A sample file where you are facing this issue (you can use https://cloud.acrobat.com/send  to share the file)

Thanks.
