Opening files

I have recently installed Adobe Acrobat DC and the old adobe files I have wont open now.  Any help?  Keep in mind, I am not very literate with computer lingo so keep it very basic!!

Adobe spent two hours on my computer, they told me this was a Dropbox issue and they can not fix it. My word and excel files are corrupt as well. This is a Drop box problem!!!!! Why can't Deopbox get off their asses and help someone?
