I am running through optimizing my PDFs. I am seeing a good compression and am quite happy.
My question:
I have a ton of folders with various files in them. PDFs, Doc, Msg etc.
Can I run a batch Optimizing on all the folders but only target the PDFs? I have far to many files in there to separate out just the PDFs
Of course you can optimize with Acrobat XI... The issue is you can't do it in batch and tell it not to process non-PDF files. That you can do with third-party tools, but I'm not sure you can use them to optimize files. You'll need to research it.
And no, you can't optimize a file using JS.

If you're using Acrobat XI or higher then no, you can't do it, unfortunately. It used to be possible, but this feature was removed in the XI version...

Actually found that you CAN optimize with XI.....
Using Create New Action > Save (FInd PDF Optimizer and set the settings)
BUT CANNOT specify just the PDFs

Wonder if I can add some JavaScript to just Batch Optimize PDFs???? Thoughts? The Save/Optimize does what I need....just gets confused when there is another format in there (msg, doc etc)
