PDF files made from PDF files are not searchable

I have made PDF files by printing from a PDF file for years. These files have always been searchable. I make these PDF files now using the Adobe CC 2015 apps and the second PDF file is no longer searchable.

What has changed in Adobe CC 2015, and how can I correct for this?

‌ccorrect by finding a better workflow. This and worse are common side effects. What aim do you hsve when you print to PDF? There may be an alternative.

Better workflow? Yes, most excellent suggestion. Something I have voiced for years! It is a long story the reason for doing this, and I have actually found the solution to correct for all of this today. It is something that needs to be done in InDesign that will enable the creation of a PDF file in reader spreads in a manner in which my client is calling for it. (Previously made PDF file of 1-up pages, added blank pages to front and back of file, printing to another PDF file in reader spreads... client wants first page to appear on the right-hand side of the same size page as all of the internal pages rather than appearing as a single page.)

The solution to this problem creates yet another workflow issue, but that is a post for another time and topic. LOL!

Still... it worked this way for years. Now it does not.
