hi, this is 1 message when i try to open ADOBE READER>

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

so I cannot open or use ADOBE Reader.

also when i try to click on ADOBE ACROBAT XI 'as administrator' - it loads when it says 'do you want adobe to make changes..' - nothing happens.  it just disappears.

i can't get ADOBE READER XI or ACROBAT DC to install or open, after downloading.

Please HELP me

Adobe's customer support is the worse.  I wish you knew English.

I am asking for refund and am buying Nitro PDF.

Agreed.

Adobe stole my Acrobat Pro from the CS4 suite I had installed and registered years ago. They said I have to purchase the upgraded version of Acrobat for it to work. Really? All the other programs work and they've all been upgraded. Just because they no longer support Acrobat Pro doesn't mean I can't USE it on my own machine, does it??!!

The CS4 suite I purchased and registered doesn't even show up in my Adobe account. I asked why and got the runaround about Acrobat, and NO answer to  why it  isn't in my account as a registered product.

Poorly done Adobe!

There is no inherent incompatibility between Acrobat 9 and Windows 10. The installers which tend to have OS version dependencies (Microsoft rules) might be the actual problem. If you have the CS4 install disks and the original CS4 serial number, you should be able to install Acrobat although you might need to run the installer in Windows Vista compatibility mode.

My response said nothing about Acrobat DC. My response did provide a possible solution for you. Did you try it?

Sorry, I responded to the wrong message then. Problem is I moved 3 times in

3 years and the CS4 discs may be in storage or lost. I re-installed the

suite from my adobe account last time this happened but now it is no longer

in my account.
