Problems with PDF thumbnail previews

Community Beginner ,

I have installed the latest Acrobat DC update which finally appeared to support thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer in 64-bit systems.  I selected the relevant option under Preferences\General but no change.  New PDFs created had just the generic icon.  Tried exiting the program, restarting Windows but no joy.  I had installed Foxit as a workaround and so earlier created icons did have a preview.  I had uninstalled Foxit when the update came through so it isn't on my notebook anymore.  However, only previously created PDFs are showing a thumbnail preview.  Any newly created PDFs are showing only the generic PDF icon.  Does anyone have any ideas??

Hi JPinPerth

Please Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.

Then open Acrobat, navigate to Help menu & repair the installation.

If the issue persist , then deselect & again select the option of 'Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer'. Then click OK relaunch the application check for the same .

If the issue persist please check with different user account to replicate the issue.

Yatharth
