Protecting an acrobat document from being cracked

I am very concerned about a pdf document that I am working and getting ready to publishing.

I know there are programs on the web that can remove the protection from pdf files.

Is there a way I can protected my pdf file in Acrobat so that these programs can not crack them and remove the protection?

Password security can be simple removed.

I know. This is why I am asking if there a better way to protect a PDF file?

Try one of the other security methods.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread. I have been busy working on book.

Now I am at the point where I need to really look at trying to protect it before I release it.

Bernd, what other method do you recommend me trying?

I recommend you accept this is how things are. With the best security in the world people can still print, screen grab or photograph, make a new PDF and be editing seconds later. This is the world and we cannot build a business on a different model.

Yes, this is what I have come to realize.

I was just hoping there might be a way to do this or at least make it harder for the PDF cracking programs that are on the web.

What specifically are you trying to prevent users of the document from being able to do?

I am trying to prevent people from getting my document and being able to open it and edit it after I have protected it.
