"The document could not be printed", "There were no pages to print"

I believe this began after a recent update. I load a document , hit File, Print, my printer dialoge box opens (printer working fine with all other applications), but then I get the two messages above.

I am running Adobe Reader DC 2015.009.20069 on a Windows PC, 64 bit with Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center

I tried Edit, Preferences, Security (enhanced), and disabling protected view at startup; restarted the application, but no joy.

Help!

Also, I am printing fine using Adobe on my Mac (El Capitain), sending the print file to the same network printer.
