Reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 onto Mac - Error 16 message - next attempt - nothing

I had to reinstall my Adobe Acrobat 8 professional (for Mac) back onto my iMac (OS X El Capitan 10.11.3) and got an Error 16.  I tried again and now get nothing.  How do I get this software back onto my Mac?  Any suggestions?  I need this software for my profession and don't want to have to pay out again when I have already paid for the software.

Would like to inform you that acrobat 8 is not compatible with the Mac version which you have .

Also acrobat 8 is an unsupported version .

The latest version is acrobat DC.
