I had subscribed to 9 Pro Extended and had a serial number on my profile on Adobe website but in attempted installation Adobe said incorrect serial and won't support me cause license was 8 years old.  Any help?

Try this. If I have your question right, it should work. It came from an excellent Microsoft Forum user, Jim Wynne, when neither Adobe support nor a forum user here could direct me to Adobe's own fix. His quote is followed by the ling he refers to. Good luck!

"Adobe shut down the activation server for several old products, including Acrobat 7.   Knowing that people might need to reinstall the program at some point, they provided download links and generic product keys, essentially turning the programs into free versions.   The download link is here.   When you click on the language you want, you'll see a list of programs and the generic key for each.  You will have to create an account with Adobe in order to do this, but it's painless.   You should be able to install Acrobat 7, then use your upgrade product key and media to install the later version."

So, you install the older product, then upgrade over it with your product...
