Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

New Here ,
Sep 27, 2016 Sep 27, 2016

I changed my computer [Mac running OX X.10] and own two licenses [why I don't recall] for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  I downloaded AAP9 and did the usual installation = it might not have been a full install so I ran the uninstaller and cleaned off AAP9 from the computer.  I re-installed it from the dmg file which downloaded [APR09_Mac_WEB_WWEFG.dmg].

It has now finished installing and all that is showing up is the word Acrobat in the upper left corner =- nothing drops down, no File etc. menus.

I don't know what is going on = it should be able to be running.  Any ideas???

As you can see here (Adobe Acrobat system requirements ), the versions of Mac OS compatible with Acrobat 9 are 10.4.11 or 10.5, so your version is way too new for compatibility. It's time to get a new version of Acrobat. If you subscribe instead of purchase a perpetual license then you'll get continuous updates that will ensure your Acrobat version is always compatible with your OS.

What's your OS version? Acrobat 9 is quite old and not compatible with any current OS.

I have the same question.

I had Pro 9 on an old Mac laptop, and was wanting to instal it on a newer Mac. This runs OS 10.10.5. I've hovered over the Acrobat logo to the right of the apple symbol on top left of screen. I have not been prompted for anything, e.g., a serial number. It seems as if it might be necessary to update the software, but how do you do that if there is no functionality at all?
