Save as a reduced PDF does not work after upgrade to MAC OS Sierra

New Here ,

I just updated to Sierra and when I go to save a PDF as reduced size, it will go to the prompt of retain with....., and then then nothing happens after that. No file is saved, let alone reduced... Any thoughts?
