Saving PDF docs that never appear to be saved. Cannot save to PDF, Adobe just not working right. Dont know where to turn,

I had to restore my computer recently due to an issue.  I reloaded the Adobe software and it is not functioning correctly.  I am not a computer person, and don't know what to do to get this working correctly for my home work computer.

When I save some documents they never appear to be saved anywhere.  I cannot Save to PDF anymore.  I have Adobe Standard X software.  HELP please
