Section and Column Breakers

Hello,

I was wondering whether section and column breakers could be deleted before a pdf document was exported to word and converted to editable text. The problem is both the tedium of deleting every breaker and, when they are deleted, this causes the format of the word document to become all messed up. So, I'm wondering they can be removed antecedently.

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on a Mac, by the way.
