I apparently have an OEM version of Acrobat 9.0 Standard. When I downloaded the program file for re-installation on my computer, and when prompted for my serial number, as recorded in my Adobe account profile for 9.0, it rejected that number. I was then told via phone that it is because that number apparently signifies an OEM version of Acrobat 9.0, which Adobe WILL NOT support and therefore would no longer talk to me about...GOODBYE!!!
So...I have a registered copy but can't get any help. Any ideas out there?
Dave

Last week I was getting pop-up messages along the lines saying that something was wrong with the serial number. I don't remember exactly, but I did post that in this forum too. I thought that perhaps the best thing to do was to completely uninstall and then reinstall the program. That is where I am now, except that the serial number that I had on file is not working!

I think that this is strange too:
The message was this: Licensing for this product has stopped working (148:3) Adobe Pro9/Windows 7
The version of Acrobat that was installed on my machine however was not Pro, but Standard
I am told by Adobe that it is an OEM version, which is not supported by them. But, they do have the license number on file, as well as me.

Hi Dave,‌
OEM licences are for the applications that are bundled when you purchase any hardware like Laptop/PC/Scanner/Printer.
These licence are provided by the store operators form where you purchased them.
As Acrobat is not directly purchased from Adobe so there is no information with us, it might be possible that the licence provided to you is invalid.
Check if it helpx Error: "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows

I have been talking to Dell for the last hour or so. They don't seem to have a record of the software being supplied on the laptop when we bought it. So, I am really confused now how I have, or had, Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard installed, complete with a serial number on this machine. Like I said before, back in 2005, I did purchase, direct from Adobe, Acrobat 7.0 Professional and installed it on my previous laptop. I do not remember, when I bought this newer computer, in 2012, what it came equipped with. But, Dell is still checking and it will be tomorrow before I hear back from them while they check on some account issues on their end.

Another source of OEM Acrobat Standard is being bundled with a scanner, such as the Fujitsu Scansnap. If you reinstall this, you must use Fujitsu's original CD, you can't download a substitute.
