Hi can you help with my query?

How can you stop the Bookmark Tab from Opening when saving/opening PDF's?  I know you can do this in preferences and save the PDF.  BUT where is the setup to stop this being the default?

When i close ACROBAT down and then reopen and save a new PDF I have the same problem.  I don't want the Bookmark panel open when i save the pdf.

Look forward to your reply

Thanks

Steve

Hi.

Open this PDF with Acrobat and go to File menu : Properties : Initial view to edit this behavior.

This only works on the PDF that is open.  I want this to be the default setting so i don't have to keep adjusting the properties each time i save a PDF.

The bookmark tab takes up most of the page.

Very annoying.

- You can reduce the size of the bookmarks tab (drag and drop).

- The bookmarks tab is mostly useful to navigate in the document.

- Document's Initial view settings always overides user's preferences settings.

- If some or all your documents embeds this setting it's because someone or something set it during the creation process.

- You can change Initial view settings in many documents in one shot using an Acrobat's Action.

It only happens when i'm saving PDF's using my Online INVOICE and estimating software - RoninApp .  I use Safari.

Basically when i save the invoice or estimate from the online Ronin App, i save to my MAC and then when i open it to view the bookmark tab is pulled all the way out and takes up the whole screen (more than the actual PDF), i have to drag the bookmark tab back and resave the initial view settings.

I never used to have to do this, when i saved the invoices/estimates, I would open them and they would appear with no bookmarks.

I don't know if i have changed a setting when saving PDF's through Safari Or it is a problem with the Ronin App software.

Its driving me nuts

Sounds like a problem with the app that is generating the files...
