text field insert figure

I need to create a form for student to complete which records details of their dissertation proposal. As well as descriptive text, this might include them providing charts, images and/or excel tables. However, I can't figure out how to create a field where they could cut & paste such information into. The text field option only allows text entry. Is there a way of achieving this? Thanks.

You need to perform some analysis of the tools, applications or programs, the students will be using to create their proposals. I know Adobe Reader cannot do what you want in a form. Acrobat might be able to but it is not a very good authoring tool.

I would suggest that the students use MS Word, Apache OpenOffice.org, or Libre Office. All have a document authoring tool within the suite and all can convert their documents to PDFs.

Thanks for your comments. We had been using a MS Word form - but to enable students to drop in both text and figures meant we couldn't "lock" the predefined aspects of the form, and they often deleted sections or otherwise manipulated the bits that we had authored. Using a PDF form was supposed to prevent that - but it unfortunately appears to have shortcomings in other respects. Thanks again for your thoughts.
