Ooh, wait, there is an optional update  15.016.20041 Optional update, May 19, 2016 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes . Among the problems it fixes: "Print dialog box does not come up after clicking on print in the pdf file in Mac."

Thx much. I have a MacBook Pro. Latest OS (Yosemite I think it's called) and is totally up to date. Acrobat reader is also up to date. Yesterday uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem. And yes all other apps and pgms print without a problem. Thank you for any help

Please tell us the exact version of Mac OS (something like 10.11.3) and the exact version of Acrobat Reader (something like 2015.123.1234). The reason to ask is that problems are often caused because updates have failed.

Thanks. Mac OS 10.11.5 seems the latest release (now called El Capitan for some reason). 2015.016.20039 also seems to be the latest version of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader (two different products).  So, it isn't that. There was a recent (older) version that really didn't print well. Sorry I don't have any more suggestions, maybe someone else does.
