Updating to Acrobat DC asking to remove older version of acrobat

I recently upgraded to CC I have tried to download acrobat dc. When I go to download it Adobe says I need to remove the old version of acrobat. I did uninstall it but I am still getting a message for me to remove acrobat before upgrading to DC. Not sure how to fix this issue.

Please try running the cleaner tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of Acrobat.

Then, restart your machine and install the latest version of Acrobat from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html
