New Here ,
Aug 29, 2016 Aug 29, 2016

When I get a PDF that needs to be filled out, but has no forum fill areas, I just use the Typewriter function and type on the line I want filles out. Then I ise my computer Pen to sign on the screen. Then I email the form to who needs it. Unfortunately anything i use with the Typewriter functun and I email mail out the PDF there is no typing on the PDF. My signature is there but what ever I did with the Typewriter function is missing. Can someone tell me why?

Thanks,

Steve

It may be the PDF viewer the person is using doesn't have sufficient support to view the text annotations. It should work with Adobe Reader. It's hard to say for sure what's wrong without seeing a sample.

The typewriter and pencil are moth annotations or commenting tools. As noted, not all PDF viewers can process these objects. The material added by these tools can be made part of the PDF if one were to use Acrobat, not Reader.

I would upgrade to Adobe Reader DC, no cost, and use the Fill and Sign feature which will allow Reader to flatten or make the added text and signature part of the content of the PDF. This also makes the text more difficult to alter.
