What is the problem I'm having creating pdf files?

New Here ,

I'm trying to create a pdf by selecting "print" then Adobe Acrobat as the printer. Normally it will ask to save the document and then its created it as a pdf. Now, it creates the document as a notepad file.

Also, if I try to create a pdf from Adobe, select a new file and then click "open", I get the error message: "Missing Pdf maker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode." Have selected "yes", have also run the repair mode from the install disc as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the program. None of these things work.

The notepad file... please open it in NotePad. It should have detailed, incomprehensible, error messages. Please copy/paste a whole file into a reply.

You cannot attach files - so no screen shots, which are attachments. To do screen shots you have to return to the forum and use the CAMERA icon.

My first guess from the Distiller error is that it has lot the fonts and stuff it came with. There might be a problem with the Cambria font, but that's not my main idea. This also ties in with being unable to repair - something wrong, perhaps Windows permissions are wrong. Unfortunately guessing a cause is one thing, fixing it is another. Reinstalling might work - but if your Windows permissions are wrong, you might get stuck with nothing.
