When I try to open a pdf file with Acrobat Standard DC a dialogue box pops up offering me a free trial for an upgraded version.  When I decline this offer, it used to open my file.  Now it closes Acrobat, so I cannot open files.  I purchased this program in December, 2015, for $139!  Now I cannot use it because of this poorly programmed advertisement.  I am missing a deadline as I write this.  Sure wish there was a phone number so I I could talk to someone about this other than the WORLD.

Please POST (do not email) a screen shot showing Acrobat DC running and the full box. It might be recognised as a problem with a solution.

After I posted this I got thru to Adobe's telephone help line.  You are correct, insomuch as there was a button at the bottom of the ad that said Register.  They told me to click on that, and it went to a form to input my software serial number.  That fixed the problem.  But it was not obvious.

This "ad" means that your application is not activated properly and you're basically using the trial version.
