I recently have been having trouble opening pdf files, as the prompt says "there was an error opening this document. file cannot be found." I would follow the path in the files properties and try to opening it from there, and still the same results. I have tried to uninstall and re download adobe and still the same. I have looked through the preferences in Adobe DC and cannot find any settings that seem to relate to this issue. I have tried opening the files right from the email and still having the same issues. any suggestions?

Have you recently updated to a new major version of Acrobat or Reader?

If you have both Reader and Acrobat installed, please remove Reader. The plug-ins for the web browser are almost identical.

If you have an older version of Reader, uninstall it and repair Acrobat. Having both Reader and Acrobat on the same system requires that both applications should have the same major version number. There are still some shared library files common to both applicatons and different major versios may not use the exact same shared library files.
