Whenever I open app/view a pdf I get a Configuration Error

As soon as I open the app and/or a pdf, I get the following message:

Please uninstall and reinstall the product.

If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

Error: 16

I'm running Mac OS 10.12.1 and sub to Creative Cloud. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat, but still have same issue.

In order to fix the configuration error, kindly go through the help document- Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite

Let us now if that doesn't work.
