Why do some created form fields have more properties? Actions - Format - Validate - Calculate

I am new to Acrobat DC.

I have created a few forms.

On the first forms that I created, a text field for example, the tabs I listed above are NOT available in the text field properties, but in a form I just created today, they are. I am confused as to why there is a difference between the options on the two forms.

In both cases, I had a PDF file that I was using to make it into a form.

For example, in the first file, I have a phone number field, and there is no option to format it in the phone number format - like I can on the second form I created only has General - Appearance - Position - Options as tabs on the text field properties, and does not have the other options I listed in the question above.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

If this happens with some file go to Prepare Form and click on Revert to Acrobat Form (or something similar to that), and it should revert to the original options.

Thank you - that worked. So is that the difference between an Acrobat and an E-sign form? (since that is the option to go back to)

That is one of the results of preparing a file for signing using EchoSign,

yes.
