As it has been stated, in the Preferences, JavaScript tab. The first entry activates/deactivates JavaScript.

(just don't forget to reactivate after you have done your tests).

Hope this can help.

More details needed.

Operating system and PDF viewer used by client, way the form was created, etc…

I am utilizing Adobe Acrobat 9.0.  The form appears to have been created within Adobe Acrobat 9.0. When I fill out the form and save it as another file name, all of the form data is lost.

Hi philipv58272348 ,

is the form "reader enabled"? If not, save it with these rights, and the data inserted in the form should be kept when saving.

Regards

Dietmar

So, it is Acrobat, and positively NOT Adobe Reader.

In this case, the "reader enabling" does not matter.

There is a possibility that the form is set up to clear before saving (for example, if it MUST be printed … although a reset before save is extremely lame). It is, however also possible that the form gets reset upon opening, which is also common practice. Try opening the form with JavaScript deactivated, and see whether you still have the values.

Maxwyss, thank you for your assistance regarding this question.  May I ask you how to deactivate JavaScript when opening the document?

You need to change the applications preferences. Look under Edit Preferences and there is a category for JavaScript that has an option to disable JavaScript.
