Why when I install Adobe DC my system tells me I alredy have it installed and it won't allow me to open a document ?

uninstall all acrobat and reader versions.

if you have a win os, clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs and restart your computer

then install acrobat dc.
