I just downloaded Acrobat DC and cannot install on my windows 10 system. I ran the install as "administrator" and also disabled malwarebytes and defender and still get the error
the wizard was interrupted before adobe acrobat could be completely installed
I do have Acrobat Pro 8 and am asked if it is OK to uninstall and I click on CONTINUE to allow the uninstall and the error later on shows up.
I do NOT want to uninstall manually 8 if I subsequently find out that DC still does not install. If someone can guarantee that the install will work if 8 is uninstalled then OK I can manually uninstall it. FWIW, when in 8 if I check on "registration" I am told Adobe 8 cannot connect to the server and I am asked for see if active-x is installed in the browser. I am using chrome and NOT I DO NOT HAVE VIRUS TRANSFER PROTOCAL ENABLED and AFAICT the latest chrome does not use active -X.
I looked at the adobe cleaners that were recommended and they seem to be for 9 or later.
Other people seem to have this same problem for several years and uninstalling did not help. Why has not this been fixed? Surely adobe has a windows 10 PC to test this on.
It is very aggravating to pay $499 and find it wont install either in trial mode or using the serial.
SOLVED - Was able to uninstall 8 after deleting the active-x directory under "acrobat" in program files x86. Apparently acrobat needed to phone home before uninstalling. Install then went OK afterwards.
