I am trying resolve CMap issues with the source PDF files.
When I convert to Docx and then again convert the Docx to PDF , the issue gets resolved.

And this being the case , I need to run this on 1000s of files and I don't have the idea on how to achieve this using action.

Acrobat is an interactive tool with very low level automation. 50 at a time, tops.
Can you describe your CMap issues? The fact that it converts to Word ok suggests the CMaps are fine.

The pdfs i am working with contains wrong CMap objects. Actually they should map embedded character codes to Unicode charset but instead, they map them to unrecognizable codes.

And what about the myriad of problems converting to Word causes? I suggest you rethink your solution. My guess is that running the Optimizer would solve the problem without the round trip issues. Plus, as mentioned, you're not going to be able to process all of your files at once. Acrobat just isn't built for that.

Hmm, Acrobat will use the CMap to get the text out to write a Word document. What else could it do with the text... so it’s hard to understand the underlying problem.

While converting to Word , the conversion engine takes care of that and then we can reconvert it to PDF.
