I am getting the error of "expecting a number object" while trying to insert a file into a large PDF of 163 pages.  What does this mean and how do I correct it?

If you don't care about special page numbering (e.g., C1-C5, i-xvii,1-322), the following solution works:

1) You need a very small pdf, say "B". If you don't have one, you can download one here: http://yiiisu.com/load.php?action=download&id=3 [Right click and Open link in new tab]

2) In Adobe Acrobat Reader, go to: Tools → Combine Files. First add your desired pdf, then add the small pdf "B". Edit the new pdf, and delete pages that come from pdf "B" [Tools →Organize pages].

3) Now you can insert pages/files as required in the new pdf.

Hope that helps 😄

In step 2, after adding both the pdfs, be sure to "Combine" them
