Help with template

I have a two page doc. It's a spreadsheet that I fill in quantities. The problem I'm running into is, at times, I run out of space and fill in fields. I want to be able to add a additional page(s) when needed. Would using a template be the answer? If it is, I just don't know how to do it. I've searched thru the tools menu and found something named Template. The thing is when I click to add the page, the page disappears. It's a bit confusing and I can't figure out how to make a template page from the spreadsheet page. Can someone help me get this done and explain how to get the most out of using a template. Thanks guys.

PS; I'm also gonna need a bit of script to add to the popMenu button to select to access the additional page.
