I am currently in a pickle. I have a field that someone writes either "yes" or "no". I want to be able to have another field populate with a number based on the yes or no field. For example:

"Field1" is the field where someone types "yes" or "no". if someone puts "yes", I would like to have "Field2" populate with a number 1. If they say no, I want "Field2" to populate with a 0.

Forms require some planning. What if the person enters :Yes", "No", "YES", or "NO"?

How are you going to handle misspellings?

What if there has been no entry?

I would use a drop down list and that would only allow for a given set of values to chose from. Also you can set the value of the drop down field by the optional value for the item selected.
