How to Turn Off the Overview Scan in Acrobat Pro DC?

Is there a way to stop the Overview scan when using the flatbed scanner?  I do not want to waste the few seconds for Acrobat to do a preview or overview scan before I am able to actually Scan the document.

I'm connect to a Brother Multifunction printer / scanner (MFC7360N) via USB cable and running on a Mac with current system software.

Thanks in advance.

Hi ander163,

Would like to inform you that there is no way with which we can stop that feature in Acrobat. This is the way in which interface is designed .

Regards,

Yatharth

This should be a selectable option.

I NEVER need this pre-scan, so it wastes time and wears out my scanner twice as fast.

Nor is it a requirement - others don't do it. I'm looking at you, PDFScanner.

Yes, you can do this.

- Go to ICA window once and select all settings you want to scan with.

- Select the button "Hide Details" (at the bottom of the window close to overview) prior to click scan.

- Scan from this window

- Now onwards it won't do overview/prescan.

But if you want to change these settings you will have to go back and select show details which will rerun the overview.

Hope it will resolve your problem.

Thanks.

This works to stop the overview scan, but it creates other problems. For one thing, it won't let me scan in "Text" mode and keeps switching to "Black & White." In addition, every time I switch back to "Show Details" it also changes the size setting to A4. Not very helpful.
