I am trying to insert a url in image and then insert that image in a pdf document so that the document can be tracked. Do adobe has some functionality so that it can track the document(get all the user details who opened the document) once it is opened after the download.

This is not possible with a PDF file. All images in it are embedded in the file itself, they can't be loaded from an external URL, like you can do with a web-page or an email, for example.

Hi Shashank,

As you are trying to add an image in a PDF document with a URL link, it can be achieved by using Adobe Acrobat DC.

In Adobe Acrobat DC, you have an option to add an image in the document and create a URL link.

You can refer the help document provided below for details on both the features:

- To add an image to PDF:  Edit images or objects in a PDF, Adobe Acrobat

- To create a URL link: Links and attachments in PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

As you also need to track the documents, Adobe Acrobat DC has a Send & Track tool for that.

Using this tool, you can check if the files are viewed by the user or not.

However, it will not provide the details of the user who has opened the file.

Refer this help document Adobe Send & Track FAQ for more information on this.

For more details on Adobe Acrobat DC, please refer this Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Acrobat DC.

I would suggest you try once the Adobe Acrobat DC free seven days trial and check if that works for you or not.

You can download the trial from here Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any information.

Regards,

Meenakshi
