I am trying to install free trial of Acrobat pro on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and get a failed install notice at 50-60%.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot, that's really helpful.Please refer to Download Adobe Acrobat DC (Continuous) for Enterprise or VIP licenses  and try installing the application through it.You will get two options on screen-* I have a serial number*I have trial or subscription for acrobat dcselect the trial and proceed.Let us know if is works
