I have a PDF which contains the same image in the same location on every page. The image looks like a stamp with a transparent background that has been flattened into the document. It can easily be removed manually in edit mode with Acrobat Pro DC. Is it possible to automate this process using javascript or an action?
Not possible.

Not possible.

If the images are always in the same location on the page you can use a script to add a Redaction annotation on that spot and then apply it. That will remove everything there.

Thank you. I will give that a try.

The redaction puts a black redaction box in it's place. I need only the image removed and need to see what was underneath it. Is that possible?

Redaction can be white or transparent but it removes all content all the way down, like a deep cutout. You will never see what's behind: that's a rule of redaction.

No, that can't be done with a script.

Remove the image from the original document and re-create the PDF file.
