Compiled Acrobat DC SDK, examples, it compiled and build with .api plugins. I copied those plugins to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\plug_ins folder. But it;s unable to open and even manually for reader DC (attach ).
I installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015 release, Version 2015.020.20042.
From Help ->About Adobe Plugins, this window is not displaying third party .api
How to open third party .api
Did you enable the plugin for Acrobat Reader?
How to enable it?
Perhaps you are missing the basic difference between Acrobat and Reader. As a developer you WILL need Acrobat. And nothing "opens" API files.
STOP using Acrobat Reader!!
Does any one know the solution?
Test the plugin with Adobe Acrobat.
Yes, tested with Adobe Acrobat. It says invalid, displays above images.
Look at the image. Acrobat Reader is not Adobe Acrobat.
Your telling to open using
adobe acrobat or adobe acrobat reader?
Reader can do just that: Read PDF files and perform some very basic tasks like allow the user to fill in form fields etc
Acrobat can be used to create PDF files from other formats, edit them in various ways, add form fields, security settings, etc.
On my PC Acrobat Reader DC is installed,
Can't i open on both?
NO!! (Not unless you get a special license costing thousands of dollars).
When you have the money for the reader key you have also the money for Adobe Acrobat.
There is a screen shot in your first message. This shows
(1) you are using Acrobat Reader. DO NOT.
(2) you are trying to open .api files. DO NOT.
There is a screen shot in your reply 5. This shows you
are STILL using Acrobat Reader. It says so, clearly at the
top of the screen shot. DO NOT DO THIS.
There are no other screen shots. None of them show Adobe
If you do not understand the difference between Adobe Acrobat
and Adobe Acrobat Reader PLEASE SAY SO.
We have given you the solution. STOP USING ACROBAT READER!! Is this solution not clear enough for you? You must PAY for Acrobat to do your task.
I should pay to run a plug in Adobe Reader? Please help.
Ok, good information. I removed the Acrobat DC and installed the reader (Adobe Reader XI)
From Acrobat XI SDK, i compiled the BasicPlugin sample with changes in .rsp file as doc.says Again error (Attach)
From this reader also not possible?
I have told you too many times. YOU CANNOT USE READER. I will not reply again.
Ok, now i want to clarify it finally.
How do i open .api files, created using Acrobat SDK?
Is it possible to open? If yes what is the procedure?
No. The .api file is a DLL file on Windows. The file will be loaded by Adobe Acrobat on startup.
